Disney's Mulan live-action movie is currently in development and has recently announced that Chinese actress Liu Yifei, also known as Crystal Liu, will take on the role of Mulan.
Liu, 31, also starred as Crystal Zhao in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny.
She was also recently in Over the Moon and Don't Lie to Me. She is from Beijing and currently lives in the United States.
Mulan, the legendary Chinese heroine, inspires a young girl to enlist in the army against her father's wishes and prove herself worthy of her spot in the all-female-fighting-unit. The film is currently in development, with filming scheduled to begin in 2019.
