In Kong: Skull Island, there’s this, as well as face-hugging baddies and prehistoric beasts that shoot fireballs out of their eyes. Dig? Whatever the reason, you might want to dig around in Kong: Skull Island’s cracked but also very beautiful game code. It’s currently available for free on GOG.com, as well as on Origin.com. Don’t let the occasional screen-dirtying scare you away; this one’s a blast to play and could appeal to a lot of different gamers. The “Action Adventure” genre is broad and varied, and it usually includes “trying to shoot someone in the face” and “playing in other people’s clothes and chairs” – if you like that sort of thing, you’ll probably like Kong: Skull Island. The main aim is to bash heads (and torsos) with whatever monstrous creation you happen to be near (or atop) at the time. Occasionally, you’ll be tasked with murdering opponents, but don’t think you’re going to do a whole lot of hunting. There’s also a co-op mode, which is called “War for Skull Island.” This mode makes use of characters and other objects found elsewhere in the game. What’s more, the game is packed with secrets and easter eggs. I’ve written about some of my favorite discoveries here, and I haven’t even explored everything available.
