Storyline:
Sentinels, robots that were created for the purpose of hunting down mutants were released in 1973. 50 years later the Sentinels would also hunt humans who aid mutants. Charles Xavier and his X-Men try their best to deal with the Sentinels but they are able to adapt and deal with all mutant abilities. Charles decides to go back in time and change things. He asks Kitty Pryde who can send a person’s consciousness into the person’s past to send him but she can only send someone back a few weeks because if she sends someone back further it could harm them. So Logan decides to go back himself because he might be able to withstand it. So Charles tells him that it’s Mystique who’s responsible because when she learned about the Sentinels she sought out Bolivar Trask the man who created them and killed him. X-men days of future past - graphic novel coming from Marvel Comics Marvel The "X-Men" movie universe may be in need of some Avengers-style heroics at the moment. There's no word yet on when we can expect the latest "X-Men" movie, but at least we'll soon have this heroically timely graphic novel to tide us over. Marvel announced Thursday that its Free Comic Book Day offering for May 11 will be "X-Men Days of Future Past." First up in the trilogy of "Days of Future Past" titles, author Brian Michael Bendis will tell the story of how time-traveling mutant leader Professor X freed a mutant from prison, only to have him be picked up by a mysterious helicopter. From there, it's up to the X-Men to battle for their fugitive friend's freedom. As you might imagine, the noir-styled tale will have quite a few nods to "Days of Future Past," the last film in the popular franchise. At the same time, it'll be notable for the inclusion of two characters who won't be in the latest movie -- Wolverine and Nightcrawler. "It's the hottest thing in comics right now and the fans have been clamoring for some sort of Wolverine and Nightcrawler tie-in for some time," Marvel's SVP of Sales David Gabriel told CNN. "We hope this is something they've been waiting for and we think they'll be excited by the direction this story will go." Free Comic Book Day Bendis isn't the only Wolverine artist involved in the book; Joe Madureira, who previously worked on X-Men: Legacy, is also penning the story. David Finch, of Comic Book Resources, called it "extremely cool and exciting," adding that "it looks like it will be different than the movie as it relates to these characters, and I think that's the cool thing about doing something like this."
